Google has been making the effort to offer Fiber in its neighborhoods for several years, but now the company is trying to get in on the ground floor by offering free, fast, and cheap Internet to those who are willing to sign up for the service.
The service will cost $70 a month for an unlimited number of lines and will be available to people who live in the following zip codes: New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Google says that Google Fiber is already available in its hometown of Mountain View, California, where Google Fiber launched in 2014, but the company says that it plans to expand it to other cities soon.
Google Fiber will offer high-speed internet at speeds up to 1,000 megabits per second.
Google is working with other companies to offer the service to consumers.
Google also announced that it has begun offering its own Fiber internet service, but it’s not the same service as the Google Fiber service that’s currently available in select areas.
The company will still be offering service at prices similar to those offered by cable providers, and the service will offer speeds up from 100 Mbps down to 30 Mbps.
